All About Speech & Language Social Group Discusses Empathy!

By AASLJuly 11, 2016

Emotions and the way in which we treat others can be a difficult and daunting task to teach children.  Recently our social group discussed empathy or thinking with your heart.  Each friend made an empathy bracelet in which they chose colors that they felt best matched their individual personalities.

We learned that just because people, like our bracelets, appear different on the outside, that inside everyone has feelings and a heart.   It’s okay for everyone to have different likes, to look different and to be good at different things.

And most importantly, we learned how important it is treat others with respect and kindness, through our words and actions.
