Grace Grothe

Speech and Language Pathologist

Grace received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Iowa. After this, she completed her Master of Science at St. Ambrose University. Grace is originally from Iowa and moved to Florida in 2023!

Grace has received valuable experience working in pediatric settings in schools, nonprofit clinics, and private practices. She has experience in evaluating and treating children ages birth to 21 years old in the areas of expressive and receptive language, autism, fluency, AAC, pragmatics, literacy, and speech sound disorders. Grace has a special interest in working with literacy disorders as she continues to grow her skillset in this area. Grace values working with all professionals on a child’s care team, including other therapists and each family to best serve each child’s individual needs.

In her free time, Grace enjoys hanging out with family and friends, playing with her dog, and going to the beach!

What is your favorite food?

Crab Rangoons and Sushi! I think I could eat that every single day.

What is your favorite holiday and why?

My favorite holiday is Christmas because I get to go back to my hometown and spend time with my family and friends that I don’t get to see very often!

What is a cool hobby of yours?

I love doing anything active! I play pickleball with my fiance every week and also play sand volleyball.

Favorite Halloween costume you wore as a child?

My favorite costume as a child was Hannah Montana! I had a wig and everything. It was my favorite show in elementary school and also my first concert!

What did you want to be “when you grew up”? 

I wanted to be a vet when I was growing up! This was after I realized that being a cowgirl for the rest of my life wasn’t very likely…

Why did you become a therapist? 

I became a therapist because I love the variety that each day brings and having the opportunity to positively impact the lives of any clients and their families. I love that this field challenges me daily and always keeps me learning!

What’s the funniest thing one of your kids has said to you or done during therapy? 

One time a 7 year old pointed to my face and said “you have a pimple?!” He was so shocked about it and I could not stop laughing.

A surprising/cool fact about you?

Something surprising about me is that I grew up rodeoing, so from the ages of 5-15, I went to different states every weekend with my sister and parents to barrel race.

What pets do you have?

I have a golden retriever named Jersie!

What is your favorite movie and why?

My favorite movie is Top Gun: Maverick! I loved all the action in the movie and the story line connection to the original movie.

What is your favorite song? 

My favorite song is Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield!

What is your favorite book?

Growing up I loved the Hunger Games series!
