Did your summer turn into total chaos? You’re not alone! As we inch closer to the start of the school year, now is the perfect time to introduce a few simple habits. A little structure can go a long way in helping your child transition smoothly and confidently into the new school year.

Tips from our Speech & Occupational Therapists:

  1. Consistent routines – Bedtime, mealtime, screen time… a little structure goes a long way. Some days may vary, but we want to try and keep this as consistent as possible.

  2. Daily “learning time” – Even 15 minutes a day of reading, puzzles, or tracing helps them stay prepared for their after school days filled with homework.

  3. Movement breaks – Jumping jacks, animal walks, or dance parties help regulate bodies and boost focus. Getting in the habit of including these in our activities in our day to day will be super beneficial come school time!
