Mia graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Virginia University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Child Development and Family Studies. Mia went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh.
While attending the University of Pittsburgh, Mia participated in a wide range of clinical experiences. Her training included rotations at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, UPMC, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and public schools, allowing her to work with diverse populations across the lifespan. I developed strong skills in evaluating and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and creating individualized, evidence-based treatment plans. These experiences have prepared her to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting individuals in achieving meaningful communication outcomes.
Mia wishes for her patients to not only progress in the therapy room, but also gain confidence and independence to create meaningful connections in their everyday lives. By partnering closely with families and creating a supportive, engaging environment, Mia strives to make each child feel seen, encouraged, and capable. Watching children grow, communicate, and succeed is what inspires her work and reinforces her commitment to making a lasting difference in their outcomes.
When Mia is not at work, you can find her taking trips to visit her family in Pittsburgh, hanging out with her cat, or at the beach with friends!
