More About Lindsey…

What is your favorite food?
Lobster rolls!

What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July because I usually visit my parents in Maine and enjoy lakeside activities, seafood, and watching fireworks on the boat!

What is a cool hobby of yours?
Thrifting! Rain or shine, you can usually find me at a garage sale come Saturday morning.

Favorite Halloween costume you wore as a child?
A very pink and sparkly Barbie costume.

What did you want to be “when you grow up”?
A Mom!

Why did you become a therapist?
I was introduced to the field of occupational therapy through my mother’s friend whom I shadowed in an acute care setting. During a session, she helped a gentleman who suffered a stroke successfully put on his socks independently. His expression of gratitude is something that touches me to this day. Since that day, I knew I wanted to help individuals gain independence so that they may live fulfilling lives.

What’s the funniest thing one of your kids has said to you or done during therapy?
One time I had a kid ask me who my favorite Harry Potter character was. When I answered Professor Snape, he said “I can’t be friends with you if you are a slytherin.”

Give me one surprising/cool fact about you?
I can water-ski on one leg!

What pets do you have and what are their names?
I have an orange tabby cat named Butters, a golden-retriever named Gator (Go Gators!) and a scruffy terrier mix named Albert!

What is your favorite movie and why?
My favorite movie is Stand By Me. My family has always loved Steven King adaptations as he is from our hometown of Bangor, Maine. I would watch this film with my mother growing up and enjoy the strong bond of friendship and adventure among the main characters.

Favorite song?
My favorite song is How Long Will I Love You by Ellie Goulding because it was the song my husband and I danced to on our wedding night!

Favorite book?
Any of the seven books in the Harry Potter series, but if I had to choose, I would pick The Deathly Hallows.
