Alexis Alfonso Cohen, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist and Tampa native who earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida State University and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Florida.
Alexis Alfonso Cohen, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist and Tampa native who earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida State University and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Florida. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and has been practicing as a certified clinician for the past three years. Alexis specializes in working with the pediatric population and has experience providing evaluation and treatment for children ages 1 through 17 across private practice, outpatient hospital, and skilled nursing settings.
Alexis is passionate about helping children develop functional, confident communication skills and has experience treating a wide range of speech and language needs, including articulation, phonological disorders, expressive and receptive language, and social communication. As a bilingual clinician, she is deeply committed to providing culturally and linguistically responsive care and is especially passionate about supporting Spanish-speaking families. She strives to ensure every child and family feels supported, understood, and empowered throughout their therapy journey.
Known for her creativity, warmth, and ability to build meaningful relationships, Alexis utilizes an individualized, play-based, and family-centered approach to therapy. She is dedicated to creating engaging and motivating sessions while helping each child reach their fullest potential. As a lifelong member of the Tampa community, Alexis feels honored to serve the families in the area she has always called home and is excited to join the team and provide high-quality care to all clients, including the bilingual population.
In her free time, Alexis enjoys traveling, cooking with her husband, exploring new foods as a self-proclaimed foodie, walking along Bayshore Boulevard with friends, reading, and spending time with her family.

Obtuvo su Licenciatura en Ciencias de los Trastornos de la Comunicación en Florida State University y su Maestría en Patología del Habla y Lenguaje en la University of Central Florida. Cuenta con su Certificado de Competencia Clínica (CCC-SLP) otorgado por la Asociación Americana del Habla, Lenguaje y Audición (ASHA) y tiene más de tres años de experiencia trabajando como Patóloga del Habla y Lenguaje. Alexis se especializa en la población pediátrica y tiene experiencia evaluando y tratando a niños entre las edades de 1 a 17 años en entornos de práctica privada, hospital ambulatorio y centros de enfermería especializada.
