Baylee Skjefte

COTA/L

Florida Licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Baylee is ecstatic to be a part of the All About Speech & Language Team, as she is committed to helping children gain independence in meaningful daily roles, including their ability to learn new skills, foster autonomy in self-care and academics, and interact within their community and across environments.

As a Florida native, Baylee attended Keiser University for her Associates of Science in Occupational Therapy and is a Florida Licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L).  Previously, Baylee lived in Colorado with her husband, who served in the U.S Army. Here, Baylee had the opportunity to utilize her COTA skills to serve other military families, by providing skilled services and resources to children through in-home and school based therapy.

Baylee completed her clinical fieldwork within the pediatric population.  There, Baylee passionately provided whole body, client-centered therapy for her clients and their families.  Additionally she planned and executed age-appropriate social and functional skill groups.  Baylee has experience performing treatments with children of all ages across a variety of developmental delays including Down Syndrome, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Fragile X Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention– Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, and Sensory Processing Disorder.

Additionally, Baylee has received training in Rhythmic Movement Training Interventions with a focus on integration of primitive reflexes. She also has experience within the geriatric populations working with neurological and orthopedic injuries.

Since moving back to Florida in December 2016, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, and bringing her four kid on long walks.
