Phyllis came to All About Speech & Language in April 2013. She coordinates communications, including the website, as well as inbound / outbound marketing.

She began working in the fashion industry after earning a design degree and worked for sportswear labels, providing licensed merchandise for TV shows, movie studios, and animated films in California.

Phyllis’ passion for individuals with special needs and their families led her to provide communications for Statewide Disability Organizations, like Florida Diagnostic & Learning Resources System (FDLRS) and the school district for over 15 years. She is a graduate of Partners & Policymaking, a leadership and advocacy training program. She co-founded a special needs parent information group that remains a school district parent program.

Phyllis has created and given presentations for educators, therapists, college students and parents at the national, state and local level, including TASH, Council for Exceptional Children, Family Café, Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and the Florida Inclusion Network, as well as USF – College of Education and Family as Faculty. She has organized and facilitated support groups and award ceremonies, providing multi-media presentations and programs. She has served on a variety of boards and councils for special needs ministries, autism, education, recreation, and the arts.

She enjoys creating art, reading, classic movies, and learning new communication strategies. You can usually find Phyllis with her husband and two children engaged in a variety of activities in the arts, sports, and church ministries. Her family enjoys travelling, amusement parks, movies, the theater, concerts, dining out, and especially the beach!
